hello there random people my name is fexxis

i am not really the most important person and as such i have no real reason to have my own website, but i might as well say a bit about myself. i play drums and bass (instrument) and am like a huge music nerd. i make music from time to time and enjoy playing games

on my interests,, i am quite into what is most easily described as indie rock, but that means almost nothing at this point so i'll talk about the bands i like. my two favourite bands are sloan and king gizzard and the lizard wizard. those albums i've linked there are the best introductions to both bands in my opinion, but both bands have been quite varied. sloan is usually described as a power pop band, which i've had some difficulty understanding as a genre. the way i think of it is songs by rock bands that aren't really 'rockers', but that aren't ballads or anything like that either. people like to make comparisons to the beatles, and like sure, i guess i hear it, but the beatles didn't invent everything. navy blues is my favourite sloan album, but lots of people say twice removed or one chord to another is better. they're alright, but my actual runner-up for favourite album is between the bridges. one chord to another is good too

king gizzard has been all over the place. i love them for their rock albums, like i'm in your mind fuzz, murder of the universe, and of course, nonagon infinity, but the thing that actual makes them so great is how far they've gone from that sound. take paper mache dream balloon, a psych-pop folk-rock album, float along fill your lungs, a downtempo* psych-rock album, or even infest the rat's nest, a full on 80s metal album.
